What is Prosiect Menai

Prosiect Menai is a community project to celebrate our two world famous bridges, the rich marine environment, outstanding natural beauty of the Straits, and the story of the people of this area through the last centuries.

Vision

To provide an education and interpretation centre focusing on the unique archaeological, historical, scientific, engineering, environmental and cultural heritage of the Menai Straits, its two bridges and the surrounding area.

What will it do for the area?

• Bring work for local people.
• Attract tourist trade for local businesses.
• It will protect buildings of great historical interest, from unwanted development.

How will it do that?

• By creating an important all-weather tourist and educational centre, open all year round, with interactive discovery zones, a cafe, creche, art gallery, workshops and facilities for schools.
• By developing the waterfont around Princess Pier to the benefit of local people and their children.
